The Nurse-Family Partnership® (NFP)
serves pregnant mothers who are members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, and must be eligible for services through the Indian Health Service (Cherokee Indian Hospital). Better Worlds Start With Great Families, And Great Families Start With NFP

Nurse Family Partnership positively transforms the lives of vulnerable babies, mothers, and families in a culturally respectful way.
NFP is a community health program
that helps pregnant mothers and their babies. Each mother served by NFP is partnered with a registered nurse early in her pregnancy and receives ongoing nurse visits that continue through her child’s second birthday.
WHAT WILL MY NURSE HELP ME DO?
Your nurse will help you:
- Have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby
- Enhance parenting skills
- Build a strong network of support for me and my baby
- Make my home a safe place for my baby to live and play
- Assist you with finding community resources such as healthcare, childcare, job training, and other support services available in my community
- Find ways to continue my education and develop job skills
- Set goals for my family’s future and find ways to help me reach them.
Can My Baby’s Father Participate Too?
Nurse-Family Partnership encourages fathers, family members, and even friends to be involved in visits and learn how they can support you.

How much does the program cost?
Nurse-Family Partnership is FREE to all eligible women.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT GUIDELINES:
1. Must be pregnant.
2. Must voluntarily enroll in program no later than 37 weeks pregnant.
3. Must be an enrolled EBCI Tribal Member, EBCI First Descendent, and/or Father of Baby is Enrolled EBCI Tribal Member
4. Must be eligible for services at Cherokee Indian Hospital Authority
***There is NO financial requirement to be eligible for NFP***
***You do not have to be a first-time mom to participate***
